Volunteer Opportunities at HelpLine

Are you ready to make a difference in someone's life? Do you want to learn new skills, while helping others? Become a HelpLine volunteer through one or more of the following programs:

24-hour Hotline Volunteer
Our 24-hour hotline needs dedicated, compassionate volunteers to assist in answering calls from people needing emotional support or information about community services. HelpLine has a comprehensive training program that prepares volunteers in the areas of communication, listening skills, problem solving, and resource & referral. For information on how to become a hotline volunteer, contact Jim Rundle at jrundle@helplinedelmor.org or call 740-369-3316.

Stewards of Children Program Volunteer

The Stewards of Children program is a revolutionary sexual abuse prevention training program that educates adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The free, 3-hour training program is designed for those who serve and engage with children and youth. The program believes and teaches that child safety is an adult's job. To schedule a free training or to obtain additional information, please contact Victoria Abbott-Swatloski at vabbott-swatloski@helplinedelmor.org or call 740-369-3316.

SARN (Sexual Assault Response Network) Volunteer
The SARN depends on caring volunteers to be on call and provide emotional support to victims of sexual assault at local hospitals and/or law enforcement offices. Volunteers receive extensive training in the area of sexual assault and help give victims the crucial support they need to get through the initial trauma of being a victim. If you would like more information about the program and how to volunteer, please contact Victoria Abbott-Swatloski at vabbott-swatloski@helplinedelmor.org or call 740-369-3316.

Volunteer Opportunities in Delaware County

Connections

Connections, the Delaware County Volunteer Center, is the central clearinghouse for volunteering in order to contribute to a healthy Delaware County community. As a key local source for being people together to meet the needs of community program and acting as a catalyst for social change, our goals is to provide the leadership, training, education and resources that support volunteers as they improve the quality of life in our community.

  • Connect people with the opportunity to serve
  • Build the capacity for effective local volunteering
