The Family Education and Support Services program provides mental health support to families or individuals coping with mental illness or behaviorally handicapped children. The program is designed to educate and equip parents on how to deal with the difficulty that mental illnesses can present when caring for a newly diagnosed child or adult.

Family Education and Support Services objectively provides general mental health education to family members who have a newly diagnosed relative. Additionally, participants can engage in supports groups for mentally ill adult parents — with parenting education available as needed.

The Family Education and Support Services program will make referrals to NAMI, depression or bipolar support groups and local parenting classes as needed.
